Welcome to the Horizon Achievement Centre, a vocational training and employment service centre for adults with intellectual disabilities or those facing multiple barriers to employment, residing within the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
Our mandate is to promote and enhance the independence, choice and employability of those we serve. We accomplish this through training and employment opportunities in various on-site and off-site businesses, services and programs all designed to enhance individual growth, personal achievement and employment potential.

September 30th is recognized as Truth and Reconciliation Day. This day serves as a time to reflect on the Indigenous children who were forced to leave their families to attend residential schools throughout the country.
The Centre will be closed today.
YestYesterday we celebrated our 40th Anniversary at our Annual Meeting. Thank you to everyone who attended and celebrated with us. There were a number of awards and celebrations to be noted.
8 Participants celebrated 40 years of service having been with the organization since the beginning.
Joe MacDougall was awarded a 35 year service award
Lisa Falconer was given a 30 year service award

The Community Partnership Award is given to an organization who through their patronage and support have fostered and promoted the abilities and contributions of persons with disabilities. 2024 recipient is the Cape Breton Eagles
The Business Partnership Award is given to an organization who through their patronage and support have fostered and promoted the abilities and contributions of persons with disabilities. 2024 recipient is Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12
The Employer Partnership Award is given to an employer who through their patronage and support have fostered and promoted the abilities and contributions of persons with disabilities. 2024 recipient is the Cape Breton Regional Hospital
